Vision and beliefs
A little of the world's warmth. A circle of support.

6.97 million
6.97 million children under 16 grow up with neither parent at home.
Parents who leave to work in the cities build a better future for their families, but leave their children a childhood without a mother or father nearby, and that makes growing up harder on the inside. It is the mark of a country and an era, and a group far too large to ignore. What can we do to help them grow into adults and find their place in the world?
We keep these children company with long-term letters, bringing them gentle companionship and warm care. We know this can never make up for a parent who isn't there. We only hope each child feels a little of the world's warmth, enough to understand and accept themselves a little more, slowly build confidence, and grow into a strong, whole young person.
A letter will not feed a child, cure an illness, or teach a lesson. But it can bring hope and light, warmth and attention; help a child see themselves, see others, and see that the world can look different. A letter can build a circle of support and wake the strength inside a child.
What we believe
-
“Left-behind children”
However the media show them, they're no different from other children: just as mischievous, just as full of dreams. Every child is one of a kind, and every life deserves to be seen, accepted, and truly listened to.
-
“Disadvantaged”
“Disadvantaged” describes a situation, not a person: unequal chances and conditions, never unequal people. So ours is not a conversation between one group and another, but between one person and another.
-
Companionship
Being there with care, without trying to change the other person; a willingness to support them on their terms. A life that feels company, sincerity and safety, and feels free to be itself, tends to grow toward the light.
